Data center capital of the world. National top county for business growth. One of the fastest-growing counties in Virginia. Loudoun County is a special place, and it has a dedicated community working to make it even better. Among these champions is the Loudoun Economic Development Authority (EDA), an independent entity of business and community leaders appointed by the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors. The Loudoun EDA works to promote sustainable, thoughtful growth in our region. This goal has a clear synergy with the work of the future Northern Virginia Science Center.
Nene Spivy, CEO of the Northern Virginia Science Center Foundation, expressed her excitement about the new partnership. “By helping learners today feel excited about and welcome in STEM fields, we’re setting them up for future success—and our entire region along with them. The Northern Virginia Science Center will be an economic engine in our region, not just through annual outlays but through inspiring interest in the jobs of the future.”
We are proud to welcome the Loudoun EDA as an Element Partner of the Launch the Future campaign. From state and county governments to businesses, organizations, families, and individuals, the coalition of funders who have come together to help build the Northern Virginia Science Center areas diverse as the community it will serve. We are honored that long standing partners such as the Loudoun EDA have invested in our vision for tomorrow.
Buddy Rizer, Executive Director of the Loudoun Department of Economic Development, highlighted the alignment of the EDA’s goals with the project. "Partnering with the Northern Virginia Science Center Foundation is a natural fit for the Loudoun EDA," said Rizer. “The Science Center will be a transformative asset for Loudoun County, providing unique learning opportunities and serving as a catalyst for economic growth.”
"We believe in the power of education and innovation, and the Northern Virginia Science Center is an invaluable asset in promoting STEM literacy and economic development in our community,” stated Angela Wilson, Chair of the Loudoun County Economic Development Authority. “We are proud to support this initiative and look forward to seeing its positive impact on Loudoun County and beyond."
As an Element Partner, the Loudoun EDA joins a prestigious group of businesses, organizations, and individuals dedicated to advancing STEM education and creating a vibrant, knowledge-driven economy. They will be honored with the element Gold (Au) on the interactive periodic table installation in the future Northern Virginia Science Center entrance hall. Thank you, Loudoun EDA, and all our supporters: you truly have hearts of gold.
