Leidos’ long history of investing in communities and preparing future generations is driven by the heart of the organization: its employees. Since 2017, Leidos has built a strong connection with the Northern Virginia Science Center Foundation, reflecting the company’s steadfast and multi-faceted approach to community engagement. Today, we are proud to announce a new chapter in that partnership as we welcome Leidos to the Launch the Future campaign as an Element Partner.
“Our commitment to the Science Center has spanned several years with various programs, from our Hispano-Latinx Leidos Asociación (HoLA) Employees Resource Group mentoring the Latina SciGirls program, to hosting interns through the Commonwealth Cyber Initiative, to facilitating field trips at the Children’s Science Center Lab. Supporting the new center feels like a natural extension of that commitment - a way for us to continue to grow together,” shared Daniel Pellegrom, Leidos’ Director of Corporate Social Responsibility.
Leidos will be honored with the element Osmium (Os) on the interactive periodic table installation in the future Northern Virginia Science Center entrance hall. They join more than 25 other Element Partners who have invested in the future of our region. We are thrilled to welcome such a dedicated champion of STEM education to this project, which, as Daniel puts it, will benefit “not one school, one district, or even one age group, but people of all ages across Northern Virginia.”
Thank you to Leidos for your ongoing commitment to the Northern Virginia Science Center. Interested in joining them? Click here to learn more or contact advancementdirector@childsci.org.
