Flow Stage

Large-scale, interactive sculpture and stage demonstrating flow.

This large-scale, interactive dynamic sculpture and stage will serve as a centerpiece to the Flow exhibition’s grand artistic expression of natural physical phenomena of science and math. Above a wide circular pedestal, a large piece of fabric dances in currents of invisible air manipulated by guests. When the flowing sculpture is removed, the platform doubles as a dramatic stage for hosting science demonstrations, guest speakers, or announcements and remarks for events at the science center. The giant screen behind the stage will allow for changing media demonstrating the many things that flow: lava, honey, aurora borealis and beyond. When in stage mode, the screen will be customized to suit the stage program.
